In a development which surprises no one, former Titans cornerback Adam Jones was suspended today by the NFL for at least four games. Commissioner Roger Goodell has the option to suspend Jones indefinitely. I think it’s likely that this is the beginning of the end of Pacman’s NFL career.
Enough is enough. I didn’t like the Titans decision to draft Jones in 2005. I didn’t like that Pacman wrote a letter to fans in 2007 asking for a chance to regain our trust and respect, only to violated that trust on several occasions after the letter was written.
Being an NFL player is a privilege, not a right. So few men get the opportunity to play in The League. It’s a shame that such a talented young player, for whatever reason, is incapable of doing whatever it takes to realize his potential and to live a dream that millions of us will never know.
On another note, Paul Kuharsky reports that the Titans will have to give the Cowboys a fifth round draft pick in 2009 because of Pacman’s suspension.

The Cowboys traded for former Detroit Lion receiver Roy Williams and signed him to an extension … which means he won’t be playing for the Titans. The Titans believe they have enough weapons on offense to compete in the regular season and the playoffs. As a fan of the NFL’s lone undefeated team, I hope Titans management is correct in its judgments.
