I have devoted a number of articles to announce that Chris Johnson is a finalist in the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week. While this is not the most compelling reading material, I think it’s worthwhile.
Chris Johnson is the catalyst of the Titans offense. Johnson has been consistent and reliable and has provided a spark for the offense when the passing game falls flat.
Johnson is one of three Oilers/Titans rookies (Earl Campbell, Eddie George) to surpass 1,000 yards in his rookie season. So far, he has rushed for 1,091 yards. Johnson needs to gain 357 more rushing yards to surpass Campbell as the franchise’s most prolific rookie running back.
Johnson ran for 131 yards on 19 carries and a touchdown against the Cleveland Browns. Click here to cast your vote for Chris Johnson as having the best rookie performance during week 14.

UPDATE: Chris Johnson is also a finalist for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.
If Johnson wins, a donation will be made in his name to the Nashville chapter of Safe Kids USA, “a national non-profit organization that works to prevent accidental injury among children.”
