Chris Johnson, the Titans dynamic running back, is among five finalists for the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Year award.

Johnson finished second to Atlanta Falcon quarterback for the Associated Press Rookie of the Year award and was not happy about it.

No one expected Ryan to lead his team to the playoffs. Ryan and the Baltimore Ravens’ Joe Flacco had unprecedented success as rookie quarterbacks, and it will be tough for Johnson to win the Diet Pepsi award.

Johnson deserves respect for silencing critics by rushing for 1,228 yards in 15 games and earning a spot in the Pro Bowl. Matt Ryan is a most-deserving candidate, but I voted for CJ.
