http://cdn.pis.picapp.com/IamProd/PicAppPIS/JavaScript/PisV4.jsI thought Chris Davis‘ drunk driving arrest might hasten his release from the Titans.
I didn’t expect it to happen a mere four days after the arrest.
But after the Adam “Pacman” Jones fiasco, management may have little tolerance for player misbehavior, especially players who aren’t very productive.
According to the Tennessean’s Jim Wyatt, Coach Jeff Fisher‘s quick decision left some Titans wondering if he was trying to send a message to the team:
“Not only is it zero tolerance, but anybody is expendable,” receiver Justin Gage said. “Coach is looking for a 53-man roster that is going to win us as many games as we can possibly win, and also 53 guys he can count on and be responsible and put a positive name on the Titans organization.”
It remains to be seen who will emerge as the Titans kick returner. Free agent acquisition Mark Jones has not played much during training camp, but his chances of making the team rose significantly with Davis’ release.
Rookie running back Javon Ringer has returned a few kicks. I don’t think that role suits him well. Has the door opened ever so slightly for Rafael Little to make the squad?
