“A little bit of love is all it takes
A little bit of love goes a long, long way
A little bit of love is all it takes
A little bit of love is lovely”
This song rocks.
“A Little Bit of Love” is the best song on All For Love. This is not the song NE will be remembered for; however, it stands as one of their best.
In fact, I’d call this song “perfect”. To me, a perfect song, in addition to being very, very good, is one that cannot be improved upon in any way. It embodies greatness in its current form.
It’s modern, fast-paced and funky. The relentless keyboard bassline is unforgettable … it snakes its way throughout the entire song. It’s so strong and effective that it’s used in the song’s bridge – without vocals.
The quality of “A Little Bit of Love” is augmented by great songwriting, production and arranging. The legendary Freddie Perren, who played a part in the success of another well-known quintet, arranged the song and played keyboards
Michael Sembello, best known for the hit song “Maniac”, performed on this production and participated in other songs on All For Love and the groups previous album, New Edition.
Ralph’s vocal is great. He gives the right amount of emphasis at the right time during the song.
I’ve never grown tired of listening to this song. It’s that bassline … awesome.
