Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This morning, I saw a poll on the front page of USA Today which showed that Americans value freedom of speech above all other freedoms, including freedom of religion.
I was happy to see this. I appreciate the protection given by the First Amendment from government infringement on my freedom of expression. I believe freedom of speech enhances free thought.
